Get this: I was sitting in my chair, minding my own business and *SILENCE NOISES* the power goes out. So, it seems like it’s the perfect time to put my Nintendo Switch to use.
But I can’t play my favorite games because they need Internet access. So I played one round of Mario Kart, got bored, took some pictures with my camera app’s night mode, and now I’m writing this post. Won’t you join me as I stare into the literal darkness and ponder why I didn’t just splurge on that Jackery solar power generator?!
I guess it’s not that bad. The temperature only went from the 60’s to the 10’s in one day, we got a bit of snow dust, Betty White passed away, and now the power has gone out and the power company won’t say anything about it so it’s gonna be a good year.
But it can be a good thing. Besides the possibility of freezing to death, this is an awakening. A reminder that the year is what you make of it. The things that happen throughout the year may create the zeitgeist, but they don’t define who you are. The way you handle events throughout the year will define who you are. How you react, how you choose to behave, and how you decide to treat others. This will define you. Your actions are more important than what’s going on around you. Be safe. Be smart. Prepare for the worst. Pray for the best. Stay calm. Stay close to loved ones. In the end, everything that’s going to happen will happen. Make the choice to make the best of it.

P.S. – man, do I miss heat! 😅
P.P.S. – I understand I have it way better than lots of other people. And I choose to do my part whenever I am able.
