So, I’m starting this new thing.
You see, I don’t have much to do with my time right now. Yes, I’m supposed to be looking for a job. But I decided, since I have the money, to take a week or two off for an impromptu vacation. Seeing as I’m in sunny Florida and all.
I’m also not a very outgoing person. I’m also not a very personable person. I also don’t like people (at least in large groups). I have some opportunities to go out and do things, but that’s just not who I am. In fact I literally just got a phone call about going to the park.
I’m not going to lie: I may be a little homesick. But that’s to be expected. It’s not that bad considering I have my computers with me. I can jump back into YouTube or Netflix like I never moved 4 states from home. I’m not really sad or happy, but mostly (and I’m sure the people who know me would agree that this makes sense) indifferent.
However, I am bored. A little scared at the prospects and challenges which lie ahead of me, but mainly (at least for right now) I’m just bored.
That’s the thing about being mostly introverted: I do not like to go out with people, especially in large groups, especially with people I don’t know, especially in public. On the other side I like to be around someone, even if we’re not talking or playing a game, or even paying attention to the other person.
So, I’m starting this new thing…
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone – two models older than the Galaxy Note Explode-in-Your-Pocket 7. I have this little pen and a nice drawing app. I have decided to draw something each day. I don’t want to draw a comic, or a grand painting, or a series of doodles that are unique pieces which, when combined, form a larger story. No. I’m just going to draw whatever.
I watch this YouTube channel called Drawfee. They’re pretty good at drawing. I’ve learned a little bit from watching them. But again, this “drawing per day” thing isn’t to get good or to become a digi-art master. I’m just going to get into a habit.
Really, I guess, it’s a little bit more about expression, releasing tensions, and having another regular thing to post to Instagram. But whatever I eventually do with it, right now it’s just something I want to get into the habit of doing.
Not to boast or anything, but I’ve already gone two whole days. Straight.
So besides that, there’s this blog, and this blog, and this blog. Then there’s this Instagram, and this Instagram. And then there’s this YouTube channel. Hopefully I can get some momentum on this “drawing per day” goal and that will spill into other areas that I care about.
So, I’m starting this new thing. Actually, I guess I’ve already started.

P.S. – one post you’ll get insightful, educational, uplifting dialog. And in this one you get rambling, where I’m actually trying to pump myself up by pretending I’m talking to someone who agrees that I need to do what I’m blogging about. Enjoy!
